Lead the herd.
Find the water.

Lost calves wait in outline around the plain. Walk into one and it falls in behind you, the way real calves hold on to their mother's tail. Bring the line to water to bank it: a herd of n scores n × n × 10, so four calves make 160 and eight make 640. Every calf drinks, so the longer the line, the faster the water runs out. The herd walks exactly where you walked. Don't walk into it.
